Round-Up on Home Pt. 2; Next-Up Risk. The Weather Report from Molino Vega.
It’s heating up on Molino Vega…
Summer has finally singed our tails with 37C / 97F temps.
It’s taken me years to master this intense seasonal change. Luckily, the heat is as dry as the Sahara winds making their way across the sea.
It is ancient and demands respect.
I’m a winter baby.
For most of my life, winter was the transitional season.
Summer was simply an escape from swampy East Coast cities to my grandparent’s apartment in Miami Beach where the air was light and balmy.
Otherwise it was…
Baltimore in August, sweating after taking a shower.
Never getting dry.
New York in July, sweating & running from bone cold A/C to frigid A/C.
Summer is now winter for me…
It completely changes my life, my habits, my physical state… for a few months.

5 Contributors weighed in on HOME Pt. 2:
I wrote Part Two of my Molino Vega 9 saga. After three years of invasive bureaucracy, we were finally able to reunite a house split by family conflict.
(in order of appearance)
Carole D shares an excerpt from her memoir where she first heard the words, “This is home," calling to her on a drive on I-95. The words were never spoken.
Melissa S recalls a home that needed updating, a home that raised her and later her son. Years after disrepair & foreclosure, her son still longs to buy it back.
Debbie K’s husband watches YouTube videos of properties in Europe. Compared to the cost of living in the USA, they hope to be our neighbors one day.
New Contributor Priscilla shares 6 suitcases with as much of home as she & her partner could fit before relocating, later haunted by the food scale left behind.
Intact Animal celebrates the first home with his name on it - Silverlake, highway 101 adjacent - and uses California renter’s rights to change his fate forever.

Next Up: RISK
On Monday, I’ll write about RISK. I thought of this theme while thinking about weather. The heat. Walking my dog in the heat is a risk, for example.
Not hydrating is a risk.
But risk can also be calculated. It can make us grow. Teach us a few things.
Consider RISK and share on Monday!
